Green Looks to Memphis
Eddyville, Ky. – This weekend Mark Green and the
KCR team will travel to Memphis, Tenn., to compete in the
Sam's Town 250. Again, Green will be forced to make the
field on time in the #23 Vassarette/BMAR Chevrolet. With
54 cars in the field, he is one of 23 drivers competing
for the remaining 12 starting positions in Saturday's race
at the Memphis Motorsports Park.
This will be Green's 5th start on the ¾ mile oval
track. Green has had 60 short-track starts in his career,
including 4 top-10 finishes.
'Last year we had a great qualifying effort here at Memphis,"
says Green. 'We'll see if we can duplicate that success
this year and bring home a better finish." Last year
the Keith Coleman Racing team started the race in 13th position,
only to end in 34th after Green was spun out on lap 162.
Practice begins Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.,
with the final session taking place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30
p.m. Sam's Town 250 Busch Pole Qualifying is scheduled for
Saturday morning at 11:35 a.m. and will air on SPEED at
12:00 p.m. The Sam's Town 250 will take place Saturday afternoon
starting at 3:30 p.m. on TNT. All times are eastern.
